Performance for HD video, 5 minute clip of 53 minute video. In the piece I attempt to align my body with projected images of my mother. The viewer witnesses moments of almost monstrous separation alongside uncanny moments where my features are lost to hers, a kind of erasure where what is erased still stares back. This piece not only reflects the complexity of intimate relationships between a parent and a child, but also the fractured experience of the child of the immigrant, a child of multiple worlds.
